Law enforcement agencies were called just after midnight on Saturday, to the intersection of Brandermill Parkway and Barnes Spring Road. Preliminary investigation determined that a car was traveling north when it veered off the road and collided with a tree. Authorities said one passenger was pronounced deceased at the scene, the others sustained minor injuries and were transported to the hospital.

The victim was identified as Wyatt Fowler, of Richmond, VA. He was a student at Midlothian High School. He was a teammate and a dedicated student who loved his classmates.
