She was 41 years old at the time of her death. She was also a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and a certified gemologist. Who was Whitney Marsh?

Whitney Renee Marsh was a dedicated participant in the running, cycling, and fitness communities. She also belonged to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, volunteered for CASA to assist children’s advocacy concerns, and was a dear friend to many. Though Whitney was most fulfilled in her roles as a wife and mother, she was also a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, a certified gemologist, an avid cook, and the youngest real estate broker in the state of Arkansas at the age of 18. She was a devoted mother to Madison, Heidi, Nicholas, Sarah, and Christopher, as well as the beloved wife of Dr. Michael Marsh.

Who is Madison Marsh?

American beauty pageant winner Madison Isabella Marsh won the title of Miss America 2024. Marsh was the first person from the US Armed Forces to win Miss America and the fourth lady from Colorado to be awarded Miss Colorado 2023. In addition to competing in pageants, Marsh is an Air Force second lieutenant.

Mike and Whitney Marsh welcomed Marsh into the world in Fort Smith, Arkansas, where she was raised. Heidi is her sister. When Marsh was seventeen years old, her mother passed away from pancreatic cancer, inspiring her to become an advocate for the early detection and treatment of the disease. In 2019, she established the Whitney Marsh Foundation to support cancer research in memory of her mother.

Marsh completed his high school education at Southside in 2019. As a child, she engaged in space camps and flying lessons, which prompted her to enroll at the United States Air Force Academy in El Paso County, Colorado, graduating with a degree in astrophysics in 2023. Marsh joined the US Air Force as a second lieutenant after receiving her degree. Marsh afterwards registered for a Master of Public Policy program at the Harvard Kennedy School.

Marsh won the title of Miss Academy 2023, a pageant exclusively for female students of the US Air Force Academy, in 2023. She qualified for the Miss Colorado 2023 pageant as Miss Academy, and she went on to win it in May 2023. It was her third time trying to win the title of Miss Colorado. Marsh, a military officer on active duty, made history as the first Miss America competitor when she competed as Miss Colorado. Marsh was chosen to compete in the Miss America 2024 contest as Miss Colorado.

On January 14, 2024, Miss America 2024 took place in the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in Orlando, Florida. Marsh progressed through the Top 11 and then the Top 5 in the pageant before being named the winner. As Miss America 2024, Marsh made history by becoming the first person to represent the United States Military Forces to win the pageant and the fourth woman to represent Colorado to win the title. Marsh also won a $50,000 scholarship to continue her schooling as part of her reward package.
