Viengkhone Nguyen and Lea Khamphachanh died in car accident on i-94 near St. Michael

Viengkhone Nguyen, Lea Khamphachanh Death – The Minnesota State Patrol (MSP) stated that a collision on Interstate 94 in St. Michael on Saturday, October 21, 2023, resulted in the deaths of two women and the injuries of three others. According to an incident report filed by the MSP, the collision took place just before 5 o’clock in the afternoon close to the crossroads with Highway 241 on Interstate 94 near St. Michael.

Fatal Accident on I-94

On Interstate 94 heading west, a semi-truck suffered two tire blowouts, and one of them collided with a Nissan Rogue traveling in the opposite direction. According to the investigation, Viengkhone Nguyen, 44, from Brooklyn Park, who was driving the Rogue at the time of the collision, passed away as a result of the injuries she sustained.  Lea Khamphachanh, 43, a resident of St. Cloud, was a passenger in the Rogue and also passed away as a result of the injuries that she experienced.

Other passengers on the Rogue, including a lady from Rice at the age of 28 years, a woman from St. Cloud at the age of 45 years, and a woman from Sartell at the age of 38 years, were all brought to the hospital with injuries but are expected to survive. The driver of the semi-truck did not sustain any injuries in the accident. According to the investigation, there is no evidence that alcohol played a role in the incident, and the weather and road conditions at the time were both dry.

Two People Killed in Crash on I-94

The deadly accident occurred after two individuals died in an accident on Interstate 94 on Monday night, September 4, 2023, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. A little before 7:00 on I-94 in Oak Township, just east of Freeport, 36-year-old Said Mohamed of Pelican Rapids collided with a Chevy Silverado pickup truck that was traveling west on the same route and was being driven by a 23-year-old male from Albany, according to officials.

Both Mohamed and his 69-year-old passenger, Grand Island, Nebraska’s Abdalla Gudad, perished in the collision. Adan Hosh, 48, of Pelican Rapids, was another passenger in Mohamed’s vehicle. He was treated at CentraCare – St. Cloud Hospital after suffering potentially fatal injuries. Alcohol had no role in this.

Viengkhone Nguyen and Lea Khamphachanh’s obituary and funeral arrangements will be released by their families later.
