Teresa Prendergast Great Neck, Long Island NY Public Schools Superintendent Died From Brain Aneurysm

Teresa Prendergast Death: The well-loved Great Neck Public Schools Superintendent has reportedly passed away unexpectedly. Teresa Prendergast, who was set to retire from office in July died from Brain Aneurysm – known as a type of cerebrovascular disease caused by an area of weakness on a blood vessel, when the wall of a blood vessel in the brain becomes weak and bulges. The pressure inside the blood vessel causes that weak area to balloon out and can be deadly.
Prendergast was appointed a Superintendent in 2015, she served as the Superintendent of the Great Neck Public Schools, an office where she played a role of being responsible for over 6,000 students enrolled in grades Pre-K through grade 12 across ten schools (Great Neck Public Schools).
In early 2023, Mrs Teresa submitted a letter of resignation to the Board of Education at a public meeting. Teresa was expected to retire from office peacefully in July. Her demise is definitely a shock to the Garden City Community at large.
The Great Neck Public Schools District is yet to release an official statement following the incident. This is a developing story.
