Tay Waltenbaugh Death – CEO of Westmoreland Community Action Tay Waltenbaugh of Greensburg, Pennsylvania has died. He passed away on Sunday 17th December 2023 at the age of 69 surrounded by his beloved family who will forevr miss him. He was confirmed dead through a Facebook post that says “Our county loss a great person. We met as I started Unity in the Community of SW PA and outreach which he attended. We are sending our prayers and condolences to the family”. The cause of his death has not been revealed.
Tay Waltenbaugh Education and Career
Tay Waltenbaugh, who was born at Fort Benning, Georgia, on September 9, 1954, is the son of D. Roebling and Edith (Jack) Waltenbaugh, who both passed away. He attended Juniata College and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Sociology. Tay served as the Chief Executive Officer of Westmoreland Community Action for close to three decades, during which time he made a substantial contribution to the organization’s amazing expansion in terms of money, services, programming, and team members.
His contributions, which had a significant impact, were not overlooked. Several organizations, including the Greensburg/Jeannette NAACP and the Mary Riegler-Chislaughi Friend of the Poor Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, have honored Tay with their recognition. In addition to receiving the Top 100 People in Central Pennsylvania and Beyond award from Pennsylvania Business Central, he was also presented with the Entrepreneurial Excellence Award from Seton Hill University.
Tay Waltenbaugh Obituary
Tay left behind a legacy of compassion and service that will endure for generations to come, in addition to his professional successes, through his altruistic volunteer work for a variety of organizations. Tay is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Brenda L. (Krisfalusi) Waltenbaugh; three children, TR Waltenbaugh (Michelle), Lane Waltenbaugh (Elizabeth Morris), and Kara Gardner (Josh); two grandchildren, Jace and Kendall Gardner; his sister, Enid Waltenbaugh; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 1 to 8 PM Wednesday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. A funeral service will begin at 10 AM Thursday in the funeral home with the Rev. John M. Smaligo officiating. A celebration of life will also be held at a later date.
