Tater Tot Death – Tater Tot, the kitten in splints whose photos have gone viral has tragically passed away. Tater Tot Cat, the one with the cute little casts was announced dead through publications shared across social media platforms (Facebook). The kitten died after showing symptoms of an illness about a week ago suddenly on Wednesday, the 2nd of August 2023.

Tater Tot, an energetic and charming kitten, captured the hearts of his family with his playful antics. However, his energy decreased, and he showed signs of illness. After a visit to the vet, he was diagnosed with pneumonia and put on antibiotics. Despite their efforts, Tater Tot’s condition worsened, and he tragically passed away.
The family was devastated, cherishing the memories of his affectionate nature. In his memory, they pledged to support animal welfare causes. “Hey Spudbuds, I’m honestly not sure how to start this post, but here it goes,” his foster mom Ash Houghton said. “Today, our tiny spud, passed away suddenly in my hands.”
The kitten was famous for his fierce appearance, untidy fur, and peculiarly coloured casts, playfully dubbed ‘bonkers’ by many, but affectionately referred to as ‘badonkabonks’ by his rescuers.
According to the rescuers, they discovered him with all four of his legs malformed. His front legs were stuck at a 90-degree angle, while his back legs were curling in an unusual manner.
“What started as me sharing some photos of the goofy new foster I had turned into an entire community focused on kindness, humour and compassion. I am astounded at the reach Tater Tot’s story had, and I cannot express to you just how incredible it has been to see how he has impacted the world,” Houghton wrote in her post.
