Up Up Down Down for short(er), was mostly a studio effort led by Steve Poponi. They play an unclassifiable style of nerd/math indie rock that may be described in simpler terms as untechnical, intriguing, lyrically direct, and just plain fantastic. The members of the band come from a variety of other bands, and they rotate in and out of the lineup regularly.
Gradwell House
The Gradwell House was formerly a home in Maple Shade, New Jersey, located on W. Gradwell Avenue. It featured a basement studio and DIY show area. Since then, the studio has resided in a butcher shop in Gloucester City (from 2002 to 2004), a slumlord’s leaking-roofed shithole on Atlantic avenue in Haddon Heights (from 2004 to 2016), and now our new wonderful and permanent home just around the corner in a repurposed, custom designed and built Masonic Lodge (Lodge 191 Y’all) on Station Avenue in downtown Haddon Heights, New Jersey.
