Upon arrival, they discovered the lifeless body of 55-year-old Brenda Bowersox at 8:56 a.m. on Sunday, July 23, 2023. Sadly, she had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:17 a.m.

In the same residence, 60-year-old Steve Bowersox was found severely wounded, having inflicted a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was promptly taken to WellSpan York Hospital for medical attention but was pronounced dead at 10:31 a.m. The York County Coroner has ruled this incident a murder-suicide, determining that Steve Bowersox was the one who shot his wife before turning the gun on himself.

Authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this tragic event. While no autopsies will be conducted, standard toxicology tests have been carried out as part of the investigation.
