Around 9:30 am Thursday, Southington Police Department received notice for an active shooting at Southington High School

Southington High School Shooting Investigations – The Southington High School in Southington, Connecticut has been placed on an immediate lockdown following a shooting threat Thursday morning. According to Southington Police Department, law enforcement agencies were dispatched to the school campus located in the 720 Pleasant St, Southington, CT after a report of a shooting threat. The threat was received at approximately 9:30 am.
The Southington high school received a call a short while ago with a threat of gun violence inside the school. The call originated from an out of state number. The Southington Police Department has deployed additional officers to the school as an added pre-caution and the district and police department are currently working with the appropriate state and federal agencies to assess the credibility of the threat.
Additionally, there is an added police presence town-wide at all schools at this time. This is precautionary only. We are working in cooperation with the Southington Board of Education and will send an update once more information is available.
