Shon Hamilton Career

At the Piedmont Park Fire Department in Greenville County, South Carolina, Shon started helping people as a 16-year-old Fire Explorer in 1993. Next, he volunteered at the Belmont Fire District for two years. Soon after, he got a full-time job as a firefighter at the South Greenville Fire District.

He was given the job of Shift Officer at the Belmont Fire Department in 1997 and worked there until 2000. He worked for seven years at Gantt Fire District after that. At all times that Shon lived in Greenville County, he was a HazMat Technician, Rescue Technician, and Rescue Diver on the Greenville County Emergency Response Team.

He was one of the first firefighters hired by the Oconee County Emergency Services Department when it opened in 2007. This department sent paid firemen all over the county. In this post, he did a great job as a Captain/Shift Commander, and he also filled in as Battalion Chief and Training Officer.
