Saratoga Springs Police investigating serious incident at hospital at Church St, Police Chief Tyler McIntosh says

Saratoga Hospital Stabbing Investigation – A serious incident is being investigated at the popular hospital in Saratoga Springs. According to the Saratoga Springs Police, a violent incident occurred at Saratoga Hospital on Sunday, resulting in the stabbing of two nurses. According to Police Chief Tyler McIntosh, the two nurses were injured in an act of violence involving a patient within the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
According to McIntosh, the injuries sustained by the nurses are deemed non-life-threatening. According to Jim Montagnino, the Commissioner of Public Safety for the city, the nurses are employed within the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). According to Montagnino, the individual experienced cardiac arrest subsequent to the occurrence.
Saratoga Springs Police Department – Early this morning, members of our department responded to the Saratoga Hospital for a report of two employees who had been stabbed by a patient. Both employees had visible injuries but did not appear to be life-threatening. Members of both our Patrol and Investigations Division responded and our Investigators are continuing to gather relevant information and evidence regarding this incident.
A suspect has been identified and criminal charges are forthcoming. We are thankful that the staff members at Saratoga Hospital are expected to make a full recovery and we commend the staff working this morning who provided exceptional emergency medical care to their partners as well as the suspect during this stressful event.
