Sam Shumadine Death – Norfolk Academy senior Sam Shumadine has sadly passed away. He was tenacious, curious, and always mastered what he did very quickly. Sam Shumadine of Norfolk, Virginia was announced dead today, Thursday, the 4th of January 2024. He was deeply passionate and his sense of humor was a gift to all those who knew him.

Norfolk Academy released the following statement:

“Our entire Norfolk Academy community mourns the passing of senior Sam Shumadine. Sam’s optimism and friendliness were evident from his first day as a first grader, and those traits strengthened with time.

“We extend our deepest sympathies to the Shumadine family. They have our unconditional love and support during this trying time, and we pray for their comfort and peace.”

Even during periods when he couldn’t actively participate, Sam assumed the role of a manager, offering vital organizational support and serving as a source of inspiration. Additionally, he took on the responsibilities of executive secretary for the Tunstall Student Council.

As his illness advanced, Sam persevered in contributing to the school in every possible capacity. His active involvement and sociable demeanor significantly enriched the classroom environment, creating a positive atmosphere for all.
