Sadekra Williams St Catherine, University of South Florida student died in accident on Mandela Highway today

Sadekra Williams Death – On Saturday, December 16, 2023, a woman lost her life in a multi-vehicle collision on the Mandela Highway close to Ferry in St. Catherine, Jamaica. Her identity has been confirmed. Sadekra Williams, 23, of a St. Catherine residence, is the deceased. Williams was a passenger in a Mercedes Benz SUV that was traveling to St. Catherine on the highway at approximately 5:45 a.m. when the car struck the back of a parked truck, according to the police report.

The accident caused the Benz to veer violently and collide with a Suzuki Vitara that was heading in the same way. Williams was declared deceased at the hospital after suffering severe injuries. According to the authorities, there were no other major injuries.

According to Assistant Commissioner of Police Gary McKenzie, head of the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s (JCF) Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch (PSTEB), inquiries are still on to determine whether reckless driving contributed to the deadly collision.

Sadekra Williams’ obituary and funeral arrangements will be released by the family at a later date.
