Rylee Monahan Death – Rylee Monahan, a resident of Gilbertsville, Pennsylvania, and a member of the Freshmen class at Pope John Paul II High School has sadly passed away. She was announced dead by PJPII Athletics in a social media post that read “Some of us met Rylee this year and some of have known Rylee for years. However, it doesn’t change the pain we all feel right now. Rylee faced every day with fearlessness and a determination to fight. Please join us in praying for Madison, Mr. And Mrs. Monahan, and the rest of their family in this time of sorrow.”
What was Rylee Monahan’s cause of death?
Rylee Monahan’s father, who attended college on a golf scholarship, instilled in her a passion for the game. The 14-year-old, a freshman at Pope John Paul II High School in Royersford, easily made the junior varsity squad. In addition to her exceptional athletic ability, Rylee was predisposed to cancer at a young age due to an uncommon and fatal condition that she inherited.
Since childhood, Ryan Monahan, her father, has fought four different forms of cancer. He gave Rylee and her sister Madison, who is 17 years old, the genetic mutation. Rylee was nine years old when her brain cancer diagnosis was made. She has now had two more cancers, undergone three brain surgeries, two surgeries on her skull to treat bone cancer, and numerous rounds of chemotherapy and radiation treatment.
In August, shortly before Rylee turned fourteen, medical professionals discovered what they believe to be cancer in both her right lung and right ovary. Li-Fraumeni syndrome, which is brought on by a mutation in a gene that typically functions to prevent cancer, affects Madison, Rylee, and their father. There’s no way to become better.
