Russell Blakney Death – A criminal investigation is being carried out by the Gaston County Police Department in response to a murder-suicide and house fire. Officers were called to Brentwood Lane at around two in the morning on Saturday, October 21, 2023, to help the Sheriff’s Office with a possible murder-suicide. Russell Blakney, 48, is the suspect; it is thought that he purposefully set fire to the residence. Blakney’s remains were discovered by the police there.
The twins of Blakney were also present in the home. Blakney’s eleven-year-old daughter was brought to the hospital after being rescued from the house by law enforcement. Blakney’s 11-year-old kid passed away at the scene, according to the police.
Gastonia Regional Response Team Warrant Service in a statement, stated that in order to help the Gaston County Sheriff’s Office serve Mr. Russell William Blakney with an involuntary mental commitment and a 50B domestic violence protection order, the Gastonia Regional Response Team responded at 220 Brentwood Lane in Stanley, North Carolina.
