Robert Mayberry Death – Robert Mayberry of Des Moines, Iowa has sadly passed away at age 26. He died on Saturday 12th August 2023 after drowning in Saylorville Lake. The news of his death was known through a Facebook post that reads “Alright y’all I loss my Nephew Big Bob less than a year ago and it’s truly ironic that now his son Robert Jr. has passed away and went to be with the Lord as well”.

How did the incident happen?

The terrible event took place while Mayberry was swimming in the area of the lake referred to as “Party Cove,” which is located in the southeast corner of the body of water.  Mayberry was seen by witnesses to be in the water; however, after a short length of time, he could not be traced and it was reported that he could not be found. Almost immediately, search and rescue teams were dispatched and arrived at the scene in a hurry. They continued their search efforts right up until the sun went dark, at which point they were forced to call off the operation due to the dangerous conditions.

The search operations resumed the following morning, which was Sunday, and culminated in the discovery of Mayberry’s body at approximately 9:10 a.m. on the same day. The inquiry into the events leading up to this catastrophe is still ongoing at this time. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office would not reveal any additional information relevant to this case.

In a heartbreaking incident on Monday night, the 31st of July 2023,  a young teenage girl lost her life after an unfortunate water-related mishap at Maffitt Lake. According to the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 6:48 p.m., a group of three, including the 14-year-old girl, accidentally slipped into the water while engaged in fishing activities. Swift action was taken by those present, as two individuals managed to rescue themselves from the water.

Meanwhile, a courageous individual dived beneath the surface, successfully retrieving the girl from the depths. Despite immediate efforts including the initiation of CPR, the young girl’s life could not be saved, and she subsequently passed away after being transported to a hospital. As investigations are ongoing, the identities of the individuals involved have not yet been disclosed. At this juncture, the sheriff’s office has indicated that no indications of foul play have emerged.
