Ray Keith Death – Delray Beach Fire Rescue Lieutenant Ray Keith has passed away. Lt. Ray Keith, a resident of Delray Beach, Florida was confirmed dead today by the Palm Beach County Fire Rescue. He died on Wednesday, the 18th of October 2023 after a courageous two-year battle with cancer.

Lt. Keith was 31 years old. He is survived by his wife, Amanda, their 12-year-old son, and two-year-old twins. His family has confirmed the heartbreaking news. Thoughts and prayers are with his friends, family, and community during this difficult time.

“Our hearts are heavy today, and I know that every single person in our department is affected by this tremendous loss,” Delray Beach Fire Chief Keith Tomey said. “Lt. Keith was everything a firefighter should be – brave, kind, and selfless. I thank him for his service and sacrifice. Our department will not be the same without him, but he left behind a great legacy in his three children.”

DBFR will honor Lt. Keith with a full honors funeral on October 26. We mourn alongside Lt. Keith’s family and friends, as well as the entire Delray Beach Fire Rescue department during this difficult time.

Lt. Keith has been dedicated to serving the residents of Delray Beach since October 2016, demonstrating an enduring commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of the community. Over the years, Lt. Keith has likely played a crucial role in maintaining law and order, fostering positive relationships between law enforcement and the community, and contributing to the overall security and harmony of Delray Beach. Through his service, Lt. Keith has undoubtedly made a lasting impact on the lives of many residents, fostering a sense of trust and security within the community.

Celebration of Life

Lt. Keith will be laid to rest with full honors. There will be a viewing from 5 – 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, at Palms West Funeral Home, 110 Business Park Way, Royal Palm Beach. The funeral service will be from 10 a.m. – noon, Thursday, Oct. 26, at Christ Fellowship Church, 9905 Southern Blvd., Royal Palm Beach, followed by a burial at Our Lady Queen of Peace cemetery, 10941 Southern Blvd., Royal Palm Beach.
