Porky Bradberry Death: Law enforcement agencies have identified the elderly man found dead with a gunshot wound inside a home in Aiken, South Carolina Tuesday. Porky Bradberry was a well-known community member and the former owner of an Aiken area Jewelry store. Porky Bradberry passed away in what officers say is a suspicious incident on Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2024.
The Aiken Department of Public Safety confirmed that an investigation is underway after a corpse was discovered in an Aiken house. The crime scene unit was called to a home in the 900 block of Brookhaven Drive near Whiskey Road at 8 a.m. Tuesday, according to investigators. According to investigators, the death is suspicious.
The Aiken County Coroner has been dispatched. SLED and the Aiken County Solicitor’s Office have also been called in to assist with the investigation. Porky Bradberry’s Jewelry is located at 1601 Whiskey Rd, Aiken, SC.
Swint and Elizabeth Bradberry, Bradberry’s late parents, opened a jewelry store in New Ellenton in the early 1950s. The store then relocated to Laurens Street in downtown Aiken in 1963, according to Bradberry. Soon after, he began working full-time at Bradberry’s Jewelry. Bradberry’s mother and father retired in the 1980s, and he assisted them in closing their firm.
