UPDATE: Troopers from the Louisiana State Police Troop G began their investigation into a single-vehicle fatal crash that had occurred on Rambin Road just west of U.S. Highway 171 just before 5:00 a.m.. Peyton Plunkett, who was only 18 years old and lived in Shreveport, and Seth Battlefield, who lived in Haughton, were both killed in the accident.
Based on the findings of the preliminary investigation, it was determined that Plunkett was operating a 2019 Ford F-150 that was driving east on Rambin Road. The F-150 went across the centerline, exited the roadway to the left, and collided with a tree for reasons that are still being looked into by the authorities.
The bodies of Plunkett and Battlefield were taken to a nearby hospital, where it was determined that they had both passed away. Two additional adolescents who were not restrained suffered significant injuries and were sent to a nearby hospital for treatment. Samples required for routine toxicology investigations have been gathered and will soon be sent in for analysis. The cause of this crash has not yet been determined.

The police responded to the scene of the crash early Friday, morning, and are yet to released the reports of their investigations. Plunkett was pronounced dead as a result of the injuries suffered in the crash.
