Patrick Cooke Freeport NY, Member of Freeport Fire Department has died

Patrick Cooke Death – Patrick “Shaggy” Cooke, a resident of Freeport, New York, and a member of Freeport Fire Department passed away unexpectedly. He was announced dead through a social media publication that read “Rest in Peace Shaggy. You were full of life here on earth. Now Heaven gets to enjoy you. You will be missed by so many. I will miss the only person that would always say… Hi Mrs. Met!! Wonderful Patrick Cooke!”

Who was Patrick Cooke?

Patrick “Shaggy” Cooke, a resident of Freeport, New York, and an Associate member of Bayview Hose Co 3. He was the son of Honorary Chief Steve Cooke, brother of Ex-Captain Corey Cooke, and the grandson of the late Ex-Chief Benjamin Cooke, all of Bayview Hose Co 3. He was loved and cherished by his family, friends and colleagues.

He will forever be remembered for his hard work ethic, for being an amazing son, brother, and grandson. There is no one else quite like him. Even though those who loved him will miss him a lot, his spirit lives on in everyone he touched. He will be greatly missed, but even more lovingly remembered. He was always up for a good time and liked spending time with his family and friends. He looked tough, but he was actually a big softy with a big heart.

Tribute to Patrick Cooke

Amy Bachteler took to social media and mourn the death of his longtime friend Patrick in a publication that read “I stopped breathing when I found out you were gone. We just spoke on Saturday. You were the kindest soul, the biggest laugh, and the brightest smile in the room. I honestly have no words. I will always love you babe. Forever your Velma.”

Dennis Urena also shared his memories with Patrick and expressed his sadness in a post that read “R.I.P to my Squad 8 brother Shaggy Patrick Cooke. So many great memories w/ you. From hanging out at MLK park, to our encounter w/ the bobcat, to joining the Freeport fire dept. & forming squad 8!!” Dennis added that “The energy that you touched others w/ was one of a kind. Jeremy’s will never be the same without you. You will be missed dearly! My condolences to the Cooke family & my hose 3 brothers. A special squad 8 call out for you tonight.”

Funeral Arrangements

Anyone wishing to pay their respects may do so on Sunday January 21st, 2024 from 4pm to 8pm at the Fullerton Funeral Home on Merrick Road in Baldwin. Funeral Service will be held on Monday January 22nd, 2024 at St Christopher’s Church, Merrick Road Baldwin New York at 0945 hours, cremation to follow.

Patrick Cooke’s obituary will be released by the family at a later date.
