Monroeville Shooting Today, Police officer shot in Allegheny Township following apparent chase

Monroeville Shooting Today – On Friday, November 10, 2023, there was a gunshot in Monroeville, Pennsylvania, and numerous law enforcement agencies and emergency personnel are responding. Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Route 356 and Melwood Road in Allegheny Township, according to the Monroeville Police Department, after an apparent pursuit resulted in the shooting of a law enforcement official.

The chase began in Allegheny County and ended in Westmoreland County. The officer’s condition was unknown at the time this report was submitted. Three people have been reportedly arrested but their identities have not been released at the time this article was written. On the evening of January 1, 2023, Pennsylvania State Police pulled over a person on Route 28 who they later discovered to be 28-year-old Aaron Lamont Swan, Jr., who was sought on probation for weapons-related offenses. The person ran away from the authorities. Officers in Harrison Township saw the person on January 2, 2023, and they began to pursue them. He took off on foot. Around 2:00 PM, he was seen once more, and for several hours, police from various agencies chased after him through neighborhoods.

Swan is seen by a Brackenridge police around 4:15 PM. Following another foot pursuit, there is a shooting incident in the 800 block of Third Street. There is more gunfire as Tarentum and Fawn cops confront the suspect close to the intersection of Morgan Street and Brackenridge Avenue. During those incidents, an officer from Tarentum was wounded in the leg, and Brackenridge Police Chief McIntire was shot and killed.

The Tarentum officer’s status is classified as stable after being taken to a nearby hospital. After demanding the owner’s car keys, Swan then broke into a house in the neighborhood, stole a 2014 Subaru Legacy from the 1100 block of Pacific Avenue, and ran away. There were no injuries to the people whose automobile was stolen. Due to Swan’s perceived armed and dangerous nature, numerous police agencies, including SWAT, were dispatched to the location and began a vigorous hunt for him.

Swan was later spotted in the Lincoln-Lemington section of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. When the police tried to halt the car, Swan ran away once more. Swan crashed the stolen car on Columbiana Street in the Homewood-Brushton neighborhood after a brief chase, then made another escape on foot into a wooded area. Swan fled the wooded area and dashed into a housing development as police set up a perimeter.
