MercyOne Hospital Shooting: Lockdown, Police at MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center in Waterloo, Iowa

MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center Shooting Investigations: Waterloo Police say MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center has been placed on an immediate lockdown following a report of an active shooter Friday. According to reports, law enforcement agencies were dispatched to the hospital located at 3421 W 9th St, Waterloo, IA Friday morning for a shooting report. MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center was locked down because of a report of a gunshot inside the hospital, police said.

Just after 9:30 a.m., police were called to MercyOne because someone heard a gunshot in a bathroom inside the building. The lockdown was over at 11:10 a.m. Officers said no one was hurt, and the situation is being looked into by the officials. The hospital was locked down, and people who came in for visits were turned away.
