Melvin Molina Death – A well-known Corpus Christi FC player has died following a deadly car accident that happened on Sunday, the 25th of June 2023. The victim has been identified as Melvin Molina. According to reports, Melvin Molina who was selected to the Second Team All-Region and was named the ASC’s Midfielder of the Year in 2022 passed away from injuries sustained in an automobile crash. He was travelling back to Corpus when he was involved in a car accident. No further information was mentioned. The details surrounding the accident were not stated.

“The world lost a truly special individual in Melvin. He was well known for his soccer talent but Melvin was an even better person. His teammates remember him as a genuine human being that lived life with so much joy. His smile brightened every room he entered,” said Nick Mims, head coach of the Concordia Texas men’s soccer team. “Concordia Soccer was truly lucky to have him a part of our program. We wish Melvin’s family our sincerest condolences and pray for them in this difficult time.”

Who was Melvin Molina?

In 2022, Molina’s outstanding performance earned him a spot on the Second Team All-Region, along with the prestigious title of ASC’s Midfielder of the Year. His exceptional skills on the field led to him being selected for the All-ASC First Team not once, but twice. Hailing from San Marcos, Texas, Molina showcased his prowess by leading the conference in assists during his sophomore season with an impressive tally of 13.

His remarkable abilities have earned him the distinction of holding both the single-season and career assist records, currently standing at 23. Moreover, Molina has etched his name in the school’s history by securing the record for the highest number of multi-assist matches in a season, a remarkable feat achieved in five matches. Not only was Molina a force to be reckoned with on the field, but he also excelled in the classroom. This was recognized by his inclusion in the esteemed 2021-22 ASC All-Academic team.

A GoFundMe page has been established by Faith Beck, a resident of Round Rock, Texas. According to Faith, the money raised through this effort will go to the family to help with the funeral expenses. The page “Any Expenses” has raised $11,250 USD of the $20,000 goal. “We are creating this to help his family with any expenses that may occur.”
