Mark Steuer Death – Mark Steuer of La Porte, Indiana, passed away following a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of US 6 and CR 425 West early hours of Thursday morning. He was 16 years old. The crash involved both a semi-truck and a pickup truck. The initial on-scene investigation determined that the semi driven by Donald E. Miles, 70 years old, of Hobart, had been heading east on US 6 when, upon nearing CR 425 West, the semi slowed down and prepared to turn left onto CR 425 West.

When the semi started to turn, it failed to yield to a pickup truck that was going west on US 6, and the truck was involved in an accident. Mark A. Steuer, who was only 16 years old at the time, was driving the pickup truck that collided with the trailer that was being hauled by the semi.

Steuer was taken to a local hospital after being injured. Deputies were still conducting their investigation into the crash site when they received word that Steuer had been pronounced dead in the hospital. The results of the toxicology tests are awaited. The investigation into the collision is still going on, and there will be no further information provided.
