He always had our back and always kept our best interests first, and for that, I will forever be grateful to him. Mario Martinez was one of the finest lobbyists that walked the halls of the State Capitol and he will be missed. He was more than a friend to “me and my wife Jennifer.” He was family. Thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.
Just a sad note to post on the news of the passing of Mario Martinez last night. Mario was a longtime friend and lobbyist from Austin who developed strong relationships with his clients and knew so much about the inner workings of our Texas Capitol. Starting at the capitol as a staffer, he later started his own lobby firm in 1999 and is among the best known and respected lobbyists in Austin. This tragic loss is most felt by his wife and children, with whom our heartfelt thoughts and prayers lie today. He will be greatly missed by many.
