Mansfield MA Shooting Today, Man shot in head on West Church Street

Mansfield MA Shooting Today – Multipe enforcement agencies and emergency crews are responding to a shooting situation in Mansfield, Machussetts on Saturday, May 20th, 2023. The Mansfield Police Department says that officers were sent to West Church Street in Mansfield following reports of shots being fired in the area. At the time this report was made, it was stated that a male victim was found with a gunshot wound to the head. The report stated that two suspects were involved meanwhile no description of the suspects had been made public.

The condition of the victim is currently unknown at this time. The name and age of the victim were not immediately released by the responding officers ay the time of this publication. People are asked to stay away from the area while authorities look into what happened. MSP and Foxboro K-9s requested.

An early Saturday morning, April 8th, 2023, incident in a neighborhood in Mansfield resulted in many rounds being fired and even caused damage to the inside of a home, prompting the police to call for the assistance of the general public. According to Mansfield Police, officers who responded to the area of Franklin Street and Darby Drive at about 3:12 a.m. for a probable shooting checked doorbell video footage of an unknown car traveling south toward Route 106 while firing five gunshots. The tape was given by a resident.

A second homeowner on Franklin Street reportedly called the police around ten minutes later to report that they had discovered a bullet hole in the wall of their residence, along with the fragments of a bullet that were still lying on the floor. There were no reports of anyone being injured in the incident. The area was thoroughly searched with the assistance of K9 units and additional law enforcement officers, but the suspect could not be found. Residents of the region are being urged to check their own home surveillance footage for any potentially suspicious vehicles that may have been captured in the immediate aftermath of the shooting.
