Macomb Shooting Investigations – Macomb Police Department is investigating a drive-by shooting that occurred at the intersection of Johnson and Pierce streets Tuesday. A suspect has been arrsted after the shooting incident that law enforcement agencies say happened around after 7 A.M. Following the incident, the Western Illinois University (WIU) has assured students that there is no threat to the community.

Western Illinois University: “A shooting took place at the corner of Johnson and Pierce streets this morning. Subject is in custody and this is believed to be an isolated incident with no immediate threats to the community. Continue to check wiu.edu/news for the most up to date information.”

The identity of the victim has not been released at the time of this publication. Law enforcement agencies were called to the scene for a report of a drive-by shooting. Arriving officers located a subject suffering with a gunshot injury. The unnamed subject was transported to an area hospital in unknown condition.
