Mackenzie Durrer Death – Advance Millwrights Project Manager Mackenzie “Mack” Durrer of Mildmay, Ontario has sadly passed away. He died leaving family and loved ones in shock and disbelief. He was confirmed dead on Monday 24th July 2023 through a Facebook post that says “I am sure you where waiting for that special angel that arrived. Guide him and love him like we did here. Please watch over Nick and Brandy Durrer Virginia Ehrlich Emily Campbell Brian and Sherry Durrer and all the Durrer and Culbert families as well as all his friends. Mack Durrer will be missed by so many”.

After graduating from Sacred Heart High School Walkerton in 2014, he pursued higher education at Conestoga College, where he successfully obtained a Bachelor of Mechanical Systems Engineering in 2018. His professional journey began as a Junior Mechanical Designer at Tucker Industries – Canada, where he served for five months (May 2015 – Sep 2015). During this time, he excelled in tasks such as sensor mounting and alignment, organizing sensor cable routing on machines, assembling machines based on shop drawings, and employing SolidWorks for mechanical design of custom machinery.
Following that, he took on the role of a Mechanical Engineering Student at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada for a period of nine months (May 2016 – Jan 2017). In this capacity, he worked diligently to update the ERP (SAP) database to reflect completed work and resolve inconsistencies. Additionally, he played a vital role in assisting with contractor scheduling, PM management, and contributing to the development of a robot predictive maintenance program.

Subsequently, he gained valuable experience as a Mechanical Designer/Fabricator at ECO-Tool located in Cambridge for six months (March 2018 – August 2018). During this time, he demonstrated expertise in material selection based on strength, hardness, and weight for various parts. He also engaged in hands-on work, machining numerous components to precise specifications using general shop equipment like mills, bandsaws, and grinders. Furthermore, he provided invaluable support on-site at TMMC North Plant by evaluating and measuring current designs to aid in the improvement of new designs.
With his skills and experiences growing, he took up the position of Design Coordinator at MWS Solutions Inc. for an impressive three years and eleven months (Aug 2018 – Jun 2022). During his tenure, he displayed exceptional coordination and design prowess, contributing significantly to the success of various projects. He holds the esteemed position of Project Manager at Advance Millwrights, where his expertise and leadership continue to make a significant impact on projects and operations.
