Leonard Michael Green Death – The suspect involved in Tuesday afternoon shooting, hostage, and barricade situation has been identified as a known driver and Northwest High School graduate. Leonard Michael Green passed away from a self-inflicted gunshot injury after hours of standoff with responding police departments.
Law enforcement agencies responded to a report of an active shooter situation at a home near Union Hall/White Oak Rd. Tuesday. Law enforcement agencies determined that the suspect was armed with a weapon inside an occupied home. According to reports, the suspect fired multiple shots at responding officers.
One officer was struck and transported to the nearby Tennova Healthcare hospital where he was listed in stable condition. The Clarksville Police wrote; “The Clarksville Police Department currently has a perimeter on Union Hall Dr. and White Oak Dr. Officers are trying to negotiate with a barricaded suspect who is an active threat and has fired several shots at officers. One officer has been injured, but his injuries are considered non-life threatening.”
“Needmore Rd. and Union Hall Rd. are currently shut down. CPD is advising the public to avoid the area and any residents in Union Hall/White Oak Rd. area to stay in their residence. Any media responding to the area is advised to go to the Hobby Lobby parking lot behind Texas Road House. This is an ongoing incident and updates will be provided when available.”
Residents in the area were urged to shelter in place as law enforcement agencies continued with the negotiation. According to reports, the individuals inside the home were identified as relatives, and a third person inside the home was not immediately identified.
Around 4 a.m., the Clarksville Police Department announced that the barricade situation was over, and there is no more threat to the public. “Update: The barricaded suspect situation on Union Hall Rd. has come to a conclusion and officers with the Clarksville Police Department were involved in a shooting. No other officers were injured during this confrontation. By Departmental Policy the Clarksville Police Department is cooperating with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) as they investigate the incident for the District Attorney. Please direct all inquiries to the TBI.”

The suspect involved in the incident has been anonymously identified as Leonard Michael Green, a driver at DoorDash. Michael was a graduate of Northwest High School. He was originally from Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, but had resided in Clarksville, Tennessee. According to unconfirmed claims, Michael died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after hours of negotiation in, a standoff with the police. He was a father and brother. The law enforcement agencies involved with the investigation have not released further details.
