According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a tragic incident occurred near Rogersville resulting in the death of 21-year-old Mercedes Luna from Strafford. The fatal collision took place on Highway 125, where Luna’s car collided with a FedEx truck around 8 a.m., leading to her passing at the hospital.

Reports indicate that Luna veered off the road into a ditch in an attempt to avoid an approaching vehicle in her lane. Upon returning to the roadway, her Honda Civic was struck broadside by the FedEx truck, which had caused it to skid sideways.

Although the driver of the FedEx truck sustained minor injuries, both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident. The Missouri State Highway Patrol seeks the public’s help in identifying the driver of a dark SUV, allegedly responsible for causing Luna to swerve off the road. This individual reportedly left the scene following the collision.
