Kym Pfitzner Death – Australian Red Cross Chief Executive Officer Kym Pfitzner has sadly passed away. He died leaving family , friends and colleagues devastated. He was announced dead through a Facebook post that reads ”
It is with great sadness that Australian Red Cross has recognised the passing of CEO Mr Kym Pfitzner”. The circumstances surrounding the actual cause of Kym Pfitzner’s death has not been made public at the time this report was made.
Kym Pfitzner Education
Kym’s academic accomplishments include being a Chartered Accountant, a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and holder of a master’s degree in Leadership, a master’s degree in Business Administration, a post-graduate diploma in Chartered Accounting, a post-graduate certificate in Executive Leadership, and a degree in Accounting. He was presently pursuing a PhD in Leadership. Kym was the Chief Executive Officer of Australian Red Cross since in January 2021 after serving as the Interim CEO from September 2020.

Prior to his appointment, in February 2020, he was elected as Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee. Additionally, he played key roles in the Finance Committee, the Nominations and Remuneration Committee, and the Finance & Audit Committee at Lifeblood.

These responsibilities were relinquished upon his appointment as Interim CEO, during which he took a leave of absence and eventually resigned at the CEO appointment. With a rich background in Strategy and Leadership, particularly within the Advertising and Media industry, Kym has garnered substantial expertise in corporate governance. His experience spans across listed and non-listed public companies, privately-owned companies, and government-owned organizations.
Over the course of his career, he has held several senior regional and country executive leadership positions, including CEO, COO, and CFO, primarily in the Asia Pacific, China, and Australia regions. His tenure with global advertising and media holding groups has also equipped him with extensive corporate development experience, overseeing the acquisition of over two hundred businesses.
