According to reports, Broward Sheriff’s Office deputy Kyle Schlapik passed away from self-inflicted gunshot injuries. 25-year-old Deputy Schlapik who worked in Oakland Park, had been under investigation for an off-duty related incident.
According to a reliable source in law enforcement, Schlapik contacted 911 on Tuesday morning, requesting the presence of officers at his location near the Hillsboro Inlet in Pompano Beach. Upon their arrival, the officers discovered that Schlapik had tragically taken his own life with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Law enforcement authorities proceeded to visit Schlapik’s residence, where several individuals had gathered, but no one responded to their attempts to seek comment.

The law enforcement source revealed that the deputy’s brother arrived at the scene simultaneously with the deputies on Tuesday morning. The Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) confirmed that Schlapik had been employed with the agency for four years and was off-duty at the time of his passing. The Broward Sheriff’s Office reported that a shooting occurred in Pompano Beach on Friday night, resulting in the death of one man and injuries to two others.
