In the early hours of Monday, downtown Cleveland became the scene of three separate shooting incidents that left one person dead and two others injured. The initial shooting occurred around 1 a.m. at the junction of E. 9th Street and Bolivar Road, near Progressive Field.
Law enforcement in Cleveland discovered the lifeless body of Anthony Blackwell, a 24-year-old Cleveland resident, inside a Honda Civic riddled with bullets. According to police accounts, Blackwell was inside the Honda when another vehicle pulled up alongside and opened fire, striking both Blackwell and the car.
Following the shooting, the perpetrator quickly fled the scene. To gather information on this homicide, authorities are offering a reward of $5000. Meanwhile, at 1:54 a.m., a second shooting incident took place at the intersection of E. 9th Street and Prospect Avenue. A 22-year-old male was gravely wounded and transported to MetroHealth Medical Center. However, his identity has not yet been disclosed.
The third shooting occurred at approximately 2 a.m. within the 1300 block of Old River Road. A male victim sustained injuries and was promptly transported to a local medical facility for treatment.
