Krista Shadle Smith Death Holy Family University Alumna Krista Shadle Smith of Lock Haven, Pennsylvania has sadly passed away. She died on Thursday 8th June 2023 at the age of 46. She was pronounced dead at Jersey Shore Hospital with family by her side. The circumstances surrounding the actual cause of Krista Shadle Smith’s death has not been revealed at the time of this report. Krista Shadle Smith was known for her exceptional personality traits. She possesses qualities that make her an excellent leader, mentor, and friend.
Krista Shadle Smith Birth and Education
Krista was born on January 14, 1977, in Lock Haven. Her father, the late Sherman David Shadle III, and her mother, Carol Anne (Geyer) Shadle who still resides in Lock Haven, raised her. After graduating from Lock Haven High School in 1995, Krista pursued her degree in Elementary Education from Lock Haven University. She later completed her Masters in Counseling Psychology from Holy Family University. In Las Vegas on December 20, 2003, Krista married her love, Geoffrey D. Smith, with whom she shared a remarkable 19-year marriage.
Krista worked for the Keystone Central School District for 14 years. She began as a School Counselor and then taught Kindergarten at Mill Hall Elementary in her last year. Krista attended First Church of Christ in Lock Haven. She was a proud member of both the American School Counselor and LHU Alumni Associations. Krista served as the Secretary of the Lock Haven Catholic School PTO. She loved spending quality time with her daughter Sophia, shopping, and binge-watching television series or HGTV.
Krista’s gentle nature sets her apart from others. She was unassuming in her approach and does not seek attention for her actions. She was kind and patient with others, treating everyone with respect and dignity. In addition to her husband, Geoffrey Smith and mother, Carol Shadle, she is survived by her daughter, Sophia Smith of McElhattan; brother, Sherman David (Nichole) Shadle, IV of Jersey Shore; father and mother-in-law, Leroy D. and Melissa Smith, Jr. of Woolrich; brother-in-law, Brett (Jackie) Smith of Mt. Lebanon; and nieces and nephews: Amy, Leslie and Haley Shadle of Jersey Shore and Evan, Blake and Maren Smith of Mt. Lebanon.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 from 6-8 PM at Bald Birds Brewing Co., 220 Shaffer Ln., Jersey Shore, PA 17740.
