Yvonne Adams  Death – Yvonne Adams, beloved mother of Kansas Jayhawks men’s basketball KJ Adams Jr has sadly passed away. She died after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by her beloved family. She was announced dead by her son on his Instagram handle through a post that says “I love you mama, you can rest now”. She was a loving mother and wife. Despite her condition she was very supportive and encouraging to her children.

Raised in Austin, Texas, Adams had his formative years shaped by his time at Westlake High School, where his athletic prowess shone in basketball and lacrosse. His junior season statistics underscored his skill, with an impressive average of 22.6 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game. Elevating his game even further, Adams garnered recognition as a 6A All-State player during his senior year, boasting averages of 25.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game.

This stellar performance caught the attention of major recruiting services, earning him a four-star recruit rating. Despite enticing offers from prestigious institutions like Baylor, Georgetown, Arkansas, Texas, Iowa, Texas Tech, and Oklahoma, Adams ultimately chose to pursue his collegiate basketball career at Kansas.

Stepping onto the college court, Adams embraced the challenges of the game. In his freshman season, he contributed to 37 out of 40 games for Kansas, showcasing his versatility with an average of 4.8 minutes played, 1.0 point, and 0.8 rebounds per game. His impact extended to the 2022 national championship game, where, despite playing only three minutes, his defensive prowess played a crucial role in Kansas’ 72–69 victory over North Carolina, marking a memorable moment in his budding career.

Transitioning to his sophomore season, Adams assumed the role of the Jayhawks’ starting small forward.
