Kimberly Gonzalez El Monte charged with murder in stabbing death of her mother Jacqueline Perez

UPDATE:  Jacqueline Perez Death – Kimberly M. Gonzalez, 25, is charged with the stabbing death of her own mother at a home in El Monte, California, according to officials. The El Monte Police Department reports that the fatal event took place on Sunday evening. The body of a woman in her 40s with several stab wounds was discovered by police at the house along with a gruesome scene. She was later declared dead at the scene by paramedics.

A woman was discovered by officers hiding outside the house; she was apprehended and subsequently placed under custody. Later on, her name was revealed to be 25-year-old Kimberly M. Gonzalez. Witnesses claimed to have heard a scream before seeing the victim’s 11-year-old grandchild rush outside and scream for assistance while his shirt was covered in blood.

According to friends, the suspect had drug problems. Jacqueline Perez, 44, her mother, was raising her two grandkids. She was regarded by her neighbors as a decent mother to the kids. Kimberly Monique Gonzalez faces one murder accusation as well as one assault charge involving a deadly weapon. Gonzalez is also accused of using a knife on his own while carrying out the crime.

On Wednesday, October 25, Gonzalez is expected to be arraigned at the Pomona Courthouse’s Department N. Gonzalez is being jailed with a $2 million bail right now.  Gonzalez could receive a maximum sentence of life in prison if found guilty as charged. The Homicide Bureau of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department looked into the matter.

According to sources, the victim was a beloved mother and grandmother who was caring for three of her children and other two grandchildren in her custody. At the time this article was written, there had been no arrests reportedly made. The deadly incident left the entire community devasting and with a lot of questions unanswered. No details about the incident were made public by the authorities in El Monte.
