She was confirmed dead by her brother through a post that says “Everyone remember Katie Kelsoe for who she was: The best little sister a big brother could ask for, Even when I pretended like she wasn’t. You were always there to save the rest of the family. You were the linchpin – the cornerstone – that kept us all talking even when we were scattered to the four corners of the Earth”. The cause of her death was not mentioned.

Katie Kelsoe’s academic journey began at the University of North Alabama, where she pursued her Bachelor’s Degree in Geography from 2012 to 2016. Building on her academic foundation, she continued her education at the same university, earning her Master of Science (MS) from 2016 to 2018. Seeking further expertise, Katie extended her academic pursuits at the University of Arkansas, where she dedicated the years 2019 to 2021 to attain a Master’s of Science in Operations Management.
During her time at the University of North Alabama, Katie served as a Graduate Assistant at Housing & Residence Life for a commendable two years and a month, spanning from June 2016 to June 2018. In this role, she managed an emergency call duty rotation for 1,400 residential students and played a key role in creating, implementing, and advising Residence Hall Councils.

Transitioning to her professional career, Katie Kelsoe took on the role of GIS Analyst at Spire in Greater St. Louis, contributing her expertise for an impressive three years and seven months from May 2018 to November 2021. Her responsibilities included editing map features and attribute data in ArcMap, addressing all permitting needs for potential projects, conducting final quality checks of GIS versioned data, and completing engineering designs and cost estimates using GIS for various types of main and service work.
Recognizing her contributions, Katie earned a well-deserved promotion to the position of GIS Analyst II, where she continued to excel for 10 months from December 2021 to September 2022. Her professional journey then led her to T-Kartor, where she served as a Geographic Information Systems Analyst for three months from October 2022 to December 2022.
Expanding her professional horizons, Katie took on the role of a Help Desk Specialist at S4 Inc., a contract position located in Huntsville, Alabama. Subsequently, she assumed the position of a Senior Software Technician at Magnolia River in Decatur, Alabama, showcasing her adaptability and diverse skill set in the field.
