According to the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, the Hightstown teenager has been charged with murder, attempted murder, and aggravated assault in connection with the incident in investigators say was prompted by a verbal dispute.
DaJohn Taylor, originally from Hightstown, reportedly surrendered to police on June 12th. Authorities said that sometime between Saturday night and Sunday morning, a 911 call was placed reporting trouble near the intersection of Magnolia and Atlantic avenues in Wildwood, New Jersey. According to reports, authorities arrived to find 20-year-old Cliffwood resident Kaiden Braithwaite dead at the scene from several stab wounds.
According to the results of the homicide investigation, a group of people were passing by a house on East Magnolia and got into an altercation with another group of people who were just standing on the porch. Taylor has been charged with murder, attempted murder, two charges of aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and a weapon offense.
Authorities claim that the argument escalated into a stabbing during which Taylor attacked Braithwaite and two other people many times. After that, authorities claim, Taylor ran away.
