She played an active role in the industry as both a musician in bands such as Justine & The Unclean and Justine’s Black Threads and as a show promoter. Covault also founded and owned Red On Red Records, which quickly became a globally-recognized indie label specializing in power-pop, punk, alt-rock, indie rock, and Americana.
In just a few short years, it established itself as a major outlet for music from New England. Since 2020, Red On Red Records has released music from numerous talented artists, including The Chelsea Curve, Linnea’s Garden, Andrea Gillis, Girl with a Hawk, Robin Lane, Cold Expectations, and, more recently, Rose Guerin. The label has also released music from San Francisco’s The Morning Line and Sweden’s Stupidity.

She was a beautiful person both inside and out, and valued supporting and providing opportunities for many Boston-based bands to share their music on CDs, digital albums, and more. Justine had around 120 posts, 779 followers and 439 following on her Instagram account under the username @justineandtheunclean.
