According to the Winnipeg Police Department, an accident involving many vehicles on McGillivray Boulevard resulted in the death of a motorcyclist who was traveling in that vehicle. According to a tweet made by the Winnipeg Police Department on social media at 8:18 p.m. Central Time on Friday evening, westbound McGillivray Boulevard was closed between Pembina Highway and Beaumont Street. Within a short distance of the motorcycle, the westbound lane contained dozens of evidence markers.
Additionally, a vehicle that had its airbags deployed and its windshield broken was seen driving on Beaumont. According to the post, the section of Beaumont Street that runs from McGillivray to Riverwood Avenue was also closed. The police estimated that the roadblocks would remain in place for around three hours.
