Joseph Ferrara Death – Brooklyn Technical HS Alumnus Joseph Ferrara of Garden City, New York has sadly passed away. He died on Saturday 5th August 2023 surrounded by his beloved family at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center at age 87. He was confirmed dead through a post that says “The Ferrara Family lost one our loved relatives, with great sadness I’m sorry to say our Joe Ferrara has passed away”. The cause of his death has not been disclosed at this time. Born on July 28, 1936, in the vibrant neighborhood of Brooklyn, Joe emerged as the eldest scion of the Ferrara family, his parents being Rose and Jerry “Pop” Ferrara.

His educational journey culminated in graduation from Brooklyn Technical High School, a notable achievement of which he was justifiably proud. Displaying his unwavering commitment to his nation, Joe served with honor at the White Sands Missile Proving Grounds in New Mexico, a commendable stint as a distinguished member of the U.S. Army. Following his honorable discharge from military service, Joe embarked on a new venture, co-founding JVJ Construction alongside his father, Jerome, and his brother, Vincent. In the year 1969, a pivotal chapter in his life unfolded when Joe, joined by his four younger brothers, laid the foundation for Ferrara Bros.

He is survived by his three sons, Joseph J. and Vicki (Cinque); Perry V. and Cathy (DiResta); and Jeffrey and Alison (Laux); eight grandchildren, Anthony, Joseph N. and Alexandra (Marinello), James, Gianni, Catherine, John Jay, Michael and Perry J.; his caring and loving partner, Cathy Knips; and his three younger brothers, Vincent, Steven and Lenny. He was preceded in death in 1981 by his younger brother Jerome (“Jay”); and, in 2009 by his beloved wife of 52 years, Joan.
