Jose Rodriguez Death – Jose Rodriguez, a resident of New Haven, Connecticut, and a diesel mechanic for Lombard Motors of New Haven passed away tragically on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He was 41 years old at the time of his death. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and a beloved brother. His death left his immediate family and the community devastated.
What was Jose Rodriguez’s cause of death?
Around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, a tragic motorcycle hit-and-run accident took place near Haven Street and Clay Street. Jose Rodriguez, the rider of the Suzuki motorcycle that was moving north on Haven Street toward Clay Street, was named as the casualty. Investigators claim that the unknown green automobile involved in the collision was moving west on Clay Street toward Haven Street at the time of the collision.
After the incident, the driver of the green car immediately left the area and is still at large. He or she was traveling east on Clay Street toward James Street.
Despite the emergency services arriving quickly, Rodriguez was in serious condition when he was taken to the hospital, where he passed away from his wounds.
In order to identify the green car that was involved in the collision, the New Haven Police Department is actively working on this hit-and-run investigation. Who was Jose Rodriguez?
José Antonio Rodríguez was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico on November 7, 1981, a son of Antonio Rodríguez of New Haven and the late Inez Padilla, and had resided in New Haven for the past twenty-four years. He was a diesel mechanic for the past five years for Lombard Motors of New Haven. José was a loving and dedicated husband to his wife Crismary Martínez.
He was a caring father to his four daughters, Juliana Inez Rodríguez, Joselyn Inez Rodríguez, Vian Yiaderis Gómez, and Annette Sharis Rodríguez, and his three sons, José Joel Rodríguez, Jean Moses Gómez, and Jonathan Rodríguez. As a father, Jose was present and invested in his children’s lives, always willing to listen and give advice when needed. He took great pride in watching them grow and succeed and was always their biggest cheerleader.
He was loved by his two sisters, Marisol Aziz and Inez Rodríguez, and his seven brothers, Antonio Rodríguez, Hector Antonio Rodríguez, Joel Antonio Rodríguez, Antonio “Gordo” Rodríguez, Wiso Antonio Rodríguez, Luís Antonio Rodríguez, and Jorge Antonio Rodríguez. He loved and cherished his two grandchildren, Camila Inez Santos and Vitaly Rodríguez. Overall, Jose Rodriguez was a truly remarkable man, who will be remembered with love and admiration by all who knew him.

José’s family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, June 12th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Iglsesia Cristiana Estrella Resplandeciente de Jacob (Radiant Star of Jacob Christian Church) 189 Chapel St., New Haven. A funeral service will take place at the church on Tuesday, June 13th at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven.
