Joey Kenward Health Update: Vancouver Canucks radio host battling leukemia

Joey Kenward Health Update – A former broadcaster for the Swift Current Broncos has recently received a cancer diagnosis. Joey Kenward revealed on social media tonight that he was diagnosed with leukemia on November 24 and has been receiving treatment at Vancouver General Hospital since then.

Despite being 46 years old, Kenward expressed that he would prefer to be at home with his partner of 19 years and their two-year-old son, but unfortunately, that is not currently feasible. “The best place for me to be right now is under the medical care of physicians & nurses,” he said on Twitter.

Kenward disclosed that he had experienced no indications of any health issues until just a few days before the diagnosis and hospitalization started. “If I had two messages for anyone reading this, it would be to get your blood tested (even just once a year) & don’t take anything for granted when it comes to your health,” he said.

Concluding his Twitter post, Kenward mentioned his intention to provide additional updates.

Who is Joey Kenward?

He served as the voice of the Broncos for three seasons from 2000-2003 before taking on the same role for the Vancouver Giants. After his tenure with the Giants, he served as a broadcaster for the Vancouver Canucks for nine seasons.
