Jim Lavigne was a stellar human being and an absolute broadcast legend. My first full shifts on the air were overnights handing off to his morning show on the then-98-Lite-FM. Rest in Peace, Jacques Coulac… you touched a lot of lives and were one of the defining people in the cultural landscape of this city! You will be missed, my friend.
Jim Lavigne: Bio
Jim Lavigne was born at Saint John General Hospital on May 3rd, 1956. He was happily married (A fisherman’s Daughter, the beautiful Gayle Johnson, on July 28, 1979) Two sons, Jared and Nicholas. He loves sitting on his deck and watching the world go by and also sitting in his rec room, waiting for warm weather, so he can sit on his deck and watch the world go by.
He quietly worked the evening shift on C98, which was not the right stage for his comedic talent. So his comedy snuck into Donnie’s show on AM as Jacques Coulac from High Rubber Boot. He finally found his real voice, a warm feeling with unexpected humour. He kept a sense of humour for 40 years of radio.
