Jason Gillenwater Suicide: Pacifica CA Firefighter died after stabbing wife, killing man in domestic incident at Vallemar neighborhood

Jason Gillenwater Death: Authorities say a man suspected of stabbing two people, one fatally, in a Pacifica home Thursday morning was found dead. According to Pacifica Police, the suspect died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in Mendocino County by the California Highway Patrol. Jason Gillenwater, 46, was been named as the suspect in the incident.

Gillenwater allegedly obtained the pistol in Colusa County following the stabbing. Officers rushed to a house on the 200 block of Naomi Ave. around 7:45 a.m. for a report of domestic violence and found a man and a woman with apparent stab wounds. Police attended to the home on December 14 for a suspected domestic violence incident involving Gillenwater and the female victim, according to police. Gillenwater was arrested at the scene for domestic violence and brought into the San Mateo County Jail, CBS News reported.

Authorities acquired an Emergency Protective Order, which barred Gillenwater from contacting the woman or approaching her residence within 100 yards. No other individual was injured in the tragic incident. The identity of the male involved and his relationship with the woman was not immediately released.

Locals identified one of the victims as Gillensater’s wife. She was transported to an area hospital hospital in critical condition. According to the San Mateo Sheriff’s Office, the tragic incident happened Thursday morning in Pacifica’s Vallemar neighborhood. According to authorities, the stabbing is related to a domestic violence incident. The suspect has yet to be apprehended. It happened near Reina Del Mar Avenue on Naomi Avenue.
