Harrison Outram Death – Wednesday evening, a 27-year-old student from the engineering faculty of the main campus of Curtin University, located in the southern Perth suburb of Bentley, passed away in a room. The student has been identified as Harrison Outram. According to reports, Harrison Outram passed away from a self-inflicted fatal injury.
How did Harrison Outram die?
Harrison Outram, who was found on campus with a self-inflicted injury has died, according to the authorities. Although he had a sizable handgun at the time, authorities refused to verify whether or not he was a licensed firearms owner. The death was deemed non-suspicious, and a coronial report is currently being compiled, they stated.
It occurred one day after the Washington government announced that, under proposed firearm law reforms, it would become the first jurisdiction in the nation to restrict the number of firearms an individual may possess. Ensuring public safety was the primary focus during the drafting process of the proposed legislation.
Email sent to faculty
In an email to science and engineering students on Thursday morning, the faculty’s Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Mark Ogden described the man’s death as a “tragedy”. “I am deeply saddened to share the news of the sudden death of a Curtin Science and Engineering student overnight on campus in Bentley,” he said.
“My condolences and thoughts are with his family, friends, cohort, and colleagues during this distressing time.”
He advised those in need of assistance to contact the Student Wellbeing Advisory Service on campus and stated that affected students could request assessment flexibility.
