HCSO Shooting Today: Suspect on the run, 1 man injured following traffic stop shooting, Harris County Sheriff's Office reports

Harris County Police Shooting – Authorities claim that a deputy with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office was shot on Wednesday while conducting a traffic stop, and he is currently battling for his life.

The incident took place in the northeastern part of Harris County at around 7:39 p.m. Sheriff Ed Gonzalez stated that the deputy was conducting a traffic check in the 13500 block of Homestead when within minutes, dispatchers got indications that an officer had been taken down.

Within minutes, emergency medical services arrived at the site and immediately began providing the deputy with lifesaving care. Once Life Flight arrived, the deputy was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital.

The deputy took two bullet wounds to the upper torso, and he was brought to the operating room for treatment. According to the sheriff, he is in serious condition but is holding his own.
