Hans Diehl Death – Hans Diehl, founder of the Complete Health Improvement Program (CHIP) passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2023. Dr. Hans Diehl was one of the Father’s of Lifestyle Medicine his C.H.I.P. Program helped thousands of people restore their health. He was supposed to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award from ACLM in November. Hans was a larger than life personality. Dashing, witty, eloquent and kind. He touched many lives.

The cause of death has not been confirmed, although, there are reports that he died after suffering a stroke.

Hans Diehl is a clinical professor of preventive medicine at Loma Linda University, author of books that have sold millions of copies, researcher, and speaker. He was selected as one of the top 20 health superheroes in the United States. He is a pioneer in the burgeoning discipline of medicine that focuses on lifestyle choices. Through his exceptional CHIP program, he promotes a diet that is less complicated and healthier, with the goal of preventing, arresting, and reversing a wide variety of ailments.

Dr. Hans Diehl, named “One of America’s 20 Health Superheroes,” founded the Lifestyle Medicine Institute in Loma Linda, California more than 25 years ago. With more than 30 years of leadership experience in the emerging field of lifestyle medicine, he and Drs. Nathan Pritikin and Denis Burkitt have demonstrated that straightforward lifestyle modifications can prevent and reverse a variety of modern diseases. CHIP (Complete Health Improvement Project) is a community-based, 12-week, 40-hour intensive educational lifestyle intervention that brings together healthcare professionals, faith-communities, corporations, schools, and community infrastructures such as restaurants and grocery stores.

More than 30 clinical reports have been published in journals with peer review highlighting the enormous potential of an integrated medical/public health approach to many of our lifestyle-related diseases.
