Mckenzie Thompson Death – Ohio parents are seeking justice after their beloved daughter McKenzie “Mimi” Thompson, a student of Harrison Junior High School passed away tragically on Monday, July 31st, 2023. What was Mckenzie Thompson’s cause of death?

According to a fundraising page organized by Hillary Ashcraft, McKenzie died by suicide on Monday, July 31st. According to the page, Mckenzie endured constant bullying from not only students but teachers as well during middle school at Harrison Junior High. McKenzie felt devastating effects from the bullying and began struggling with depression. She was going to be an incoming freshman but the pain she endured the previous years became too much for her and she tragically took her life, the page also read.

A year ago Mckenzie wrote on Facebook about the issues in her school and how staff pay less attention. The post read “This school really changed my mindset including my behavior, in the beginning of the year I was very happy to go there but the people there change you for the worst, the staff doesn’t care about the student’s mental health and the school is assumed to be a great school but once you’re there you realize it really isn’t. girls constantly fighting in the bathroom, kids smoking weed in the bathroom, the school looks as a great school until you open your eyes and find out how it really is.”

“No matter how many times you reach out to the teachers and principal about issues you have at that school they still do nothing so you gotta take matters into your own hands then the staff and principals get mad when you do So, me and my family moved over here so I wouldn’t have to go to Cincinnati public schools because Harrison was “better” but Harrison changed me and turned me into the person I never wanted to be. so from experience, I don’t recommend Harrison jr school.”

Fundraising for Mckenzie Thompson’s funeral

Hillary Ashcraft is organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Nicholas Thompson. The fundraising page organized to raise $5,000 has raised the sum of $7,030 at the time of this publication. To donate to the family, click on GoFundMe. Mckenzie “Mimi” was the second of five children to Nick Thompson and Amanda Tuttle, according to the page. She was such a nurturing sister and loved her siblings deeply. She was an incredible daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, and friend.

According to the statement by the family on the page, McKenzie was not just the light in their lives- but everyone she met. From the moment she could talk, she never knew a stranger and would always wear a smile from ear to ear. She had such an infectious spirit and a truly beautiful soul. She was strong and fearless but also incredibly kind. She enjoyed being outside and had an unwavering love for nature and all its creatures. Anytime you would see Mimi- she would be holding and trying to bring home some type of animal. She had always dreamed of growing up and owning a farm and being a vet.

Mckenzie Thompson’s Celebration of Life

The funds raised from this GoFundMe will be used to help McKenzie’s family with funeral expenses, counseling support, and to raise awareness for suicide and bullying- and hopefully, make a difference in the lives of other young souls like Mimi’s who may be silently suffering. Celebration of Life for McKenzie will be this Friday, August 4th at 4 pm. The memorial will be held at Miami White Water at the Big Sycamore shelter.
