She died on Tuesday 9th January 2024 after battling with frontotemporal dementia at the age of 64. She was announced dead through a post that says “Ginger passed away this morning after a long battle with frontotempural dementia. She was an extraordinary person who easily had the highest quantity and greatest quality of devoted, life-long friendships of anyone I know”.

Through her studies at Hollins University, Ginger Reeder earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in American Studies and English in the year 1981. It was at Robert A. Wilson Associates, where she worked as a Media Buyer and Project Manager for a period of five years, from 1981 to 1986, that she experienced the beginning of her professional adventure. Following this, she worked at the Dallas Museum of Art for a period of four years, from 1992 to 1996, in the capacity of Director of Marketing and External Services.

When Ginger made the transition to Neiman Marcus, she was given the position of Director of Public Relations. In this job, she was responsible for overseeing the media efforts for the extensive catalog collection that was handled by Neiman Marcus Direct. Furthermore, she managed all of the public relations operations that were involved with this illustrious publication, which included playing a significant part in the selection process for fantasy presents that were included in the annual Neiman Marcus Christmas Catalogue.
